Some bittersweet news: we are sad to announce that after seven years with us, Operations Director Nancy Flores has left Voces de la Frontera. She will be serving as the Development Manager for the National Partnership for New Americans, where she will continue working towards the mission of advocating for immigrants’ rights. During her tenure, Nancy was an integral part of helping Voces grow into the organization it is today. She will be missed, and we wish her all the best in her new endeavors!
We are excited to welcome Natalia Espina as our new Operations Director! Natalia is a Chilean-born immigrant who came to the United States as a young child and grew up in Iowa. She has been working with immigrant populations for over a decade, focusing on community-based healthcare for school-aged children and their families. She is the founder of the Eastern Iowa Community Bond Project, which works to raise bond money for detained immigrants and has successfully helped secure the release of 38 individuals in Eastern Iowa from 2017 onward.
Natalia will be working primarily out of the Milwaukee headquarters. She can be contacted at 414-643-1620 or via email at operations@vdlf.org.
