Citizenship For All
Due to decades of organizing and movement pressure, we are closer than ever to securing a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrant essential workers and their families this year!
In August 2021, Democrats in Congress have allocated $105 billion in the reconciliation budget to create a path to citizenship for millions of immigrant essential workers, including Dreamers, TPS holders and essential workers who have been risking their lives during the pandemic to keep others safe and fed. Immigrant essential workers harvest, pack and deliver our food. They have been cleaning and sanitizing our hospitals and caring for our children and the elderly. They are represented in all industries.
In September 2021, Congress will be drafting specific language and voting on the reconciliation budget that includes immigration reform with a path to citizenship. We need everyone to take action and tell our Democratic representatives to continue to champion citizenship for essential workers and make sure that this pandemic relief budget honors their contributions and ensures that they have the protections and rights that they need and deserve.
This immigration bill will not only provide relief for millions who have been at the frontlines of the pandemic working to keep others safe, but builds the fight for a major transformation of our immigration system grounded on the fundamental right of people to migrate and which honors immigrants’ humanity and contributions.
