As brand new members of Community Shares of Wisconsin—a Madison-based federation of like-minded nonprofit organizations tackling social, economic, and environmental problems through grassroots activities, advocacy, research, and public education—we participated in The Big Share, an online day of giving.
Our original goal was to raise $2,400 in 24 hours to support our work in the Madison area. Our supporters helped us raise a total of $4,221!
“The fact that so many people supported Voces de la Frontera’s struggle for immigrant, worker and student rights during The Big Share is both humbling and energizing,” said Anna Dvorak, development director at Voces de la Frontera. “If people come together to nearly double our goal in a day, imagine what progress we can make for working people in a month, a year, or 10 years. As we say at Voces, si se puede!”
