Voces de la Frontera and Family of Ramón Morales Reyes Demand His Release on Bond and DHS to Clear His Name

(Milwaukee, June 9th, 2025)- As immigration authorities continue to detain a local father despite discredited allegations, the family of Ramón Morales Reyes and Voces de la Frontera are calling on the public and media to demand his release and expose the abuse of power behind his case. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) falsely and publicly accused him of writing letters threatening to assassinate President Trump. However, it has since come to light that DHS knew six days before issuing its public statement that Ramón was not the author. Most recently, Demetric Scott confessed to writing the letters in an attempt to have Ramón deported before he could testify against him in a criminal investigation.

PRESS CONFERENCE

WHAT: Voces de la Frontera, the daughter of Ramón Morales Reyes, and his attorney will hold a virtual press conference to demand his immediate release on bond and denounce the grave injustice behind his detention. Ramón is a long-standing member of the community, a father, and a hard-working family man.

WHY: The press conference will take place shortly before Ramón’s immigration bond hearing before Judge Carla Espinoza. Advocates are calling for DHS to clear his name, for his release, and for ICE to stop obstructing his ability to move forward with his U visa process and to testify against the individual who victimized him. No one should be punished for seeking justice.
