Please RSVP to our Facebook event so we know how many people to expect. Also please feel free to invite family and friends to the Facebook event. We want as many people to show on Friday as possible!
Also please sign our petition directed at Strauss, highlighting our five core demands. Signing this petition is a powerful action to take even if you cannot physically show on Friday. Share it far and wide with your networks and encourage your friends and families to sign it as well!
You can read our full demands letter to Strauss here, which also outlines these unlawful, racist firings.
Please note that the address on this flyer is directly across the street from the meatpacking plant, as the plant itself does not have a public address. Also please note that there is no public parking at the Strauss meatpacking facility where the action will be taking place. Please park at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex: 6000 W Ryan Rd, Franklin, WI 53132. This is about .2 miles from the meatpacking facility. We recommend that you show up at the Sports Complex at 10:30 am. From there, we will all walk over to the meatpacking plant together at 10:45 am.
And a note on safety: We are collaborating with the Franklin City Clerk and with the Chief of Police of Franklin, as Strauss is private property. There will be marshals and this protest will be peaceful. If you are interested in volunteering as a marshal, please contact Jacquelyn Kovarik at 414-614-3179. Please wear a mask and maintain 6 feet of distance when we are protesting, as required by Wisconsin’s statewide mandate. We will request you to do this repeatedly at the protest, and ask those who do not comply to leave. We want to be safe while we fight for the rights of Strauss workers and the rights of all immigrants and working class people in Wisconsin! See you Friday!
