Does the stay at home order apply for people who have night jobs too? Are there specific hours people cannot leave their houses?

Jobs that fall under the essential category are not affected by this order so if you work under an essential job night shifters aren’t affected either and there are no curfew hours.

Does this stay at home order apply for all jobs? Construction? Cleaning clinics, businesses, etc.?

The only jobs that are not included in the order are food production, distribution, fulfillment centers, storage facilities, marinas, and sales; construction, construction required in response to this public health emergency, hospital construction, construction of long-term care and assisted living facilities, public works construction, school construction, Essential Business, and Operations construction, construction necessary for Essential Governmental Functions, and housing construction, except that optional or aesthetic construction, should be avoided); building management and maintenance; airport operations; operation and maintenance of utilities, including water, sewer, gas, and electric (including power generation, distribution, production of raw materials, and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources-certified and registered drinking water and wastewater testing laboratories); Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, and Public Benefits Energy Assistance Program offices, customer service centers, and public intake centers; distribution centers; oil and biofuel refining; roads, highways, railroads, and public transportation; ports; cybersecurity operations; flood control; solid waste and recycling collection and removal; and internet, video, and telecommunications systems (including the provision of essential global, national, and local infrastructure for computing services, business infrastructure, communications, and web-based services).

Will the police stop people more frequently for driving and leaving their houses during the stay at home order?

No, but you should only be going out for either going to an essential place like the grocery stores or to a doctor or to an essential job

I am now out of work and cannot apply for unemployment. What will I do about rent? Do I need to apply for something?

What should I do if my company tells me to continue working but I am not considered essential work?

If you feel unsafe and are working at a non-essential workplace you may dial 311.

I have been working for many years but not full time. Can I collect unemployment?

The only people allowed to file for unemployment are citizens, residents, and those under visas.

Does the help from the government apply to immigrants too?

No, only citizens, residents and those under visas qualify for the government stimulus.

Is the Mexican consulate still open?

No, they are closed until further notice. If you made an appointment with them you must reschedule it once they open again.

What will happen to people who own their own businesses? Are they essential?

If you are a restaurant you may remain open and can only do take out or delivery. Bars must close.

When will the stay at home order end?

effect until 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020, or until a superseding order is issued.

With the stay at home order, are we allowed to leave for walks, runs, etc.?

Yes but you must follow the social distancing rules

Do we need proof, like a letter, in order to leave our homes to go to the store or work?

No, if you get pulled over just tell the officer where you are headed. You can request a letter from your job if you would like.

What should I do if someone in my family has symptoms, but I cannot go to the free health clinic because they are not seeing COVID patients?

You must fill out a health screening on https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/index.htm and a health practitioner will contact you.
