Note: This position will include work for both Voces de la Frontera and our 501c4 sister organization Voces de la Frontera Action (VDLFA). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1-Strategic Growth & Outreach
● Assist the Director of Civic Engagement to identify geographic opportunities for growth incivic engagement initiatives.
● Expand and strengthen the base of allies and community supporters in strategic districts.
● Identify, recruit, and engage allies, members, and partner organizations in strategicdistricts that support our mission and state campaigns, primarily restoring state drivercards for immigrants.
2-Advocacy & Lobbying Support
● Assist the Director of Civic Engagement in coordinating lobbying communications to stateelected officials.
● Facilitate meetings between allies, Voces members, and elected representatives at thedistrict level and during lobbying days at the State Capitol.
3-Education & Training
● Support the development of training materials and educational resources for allies andmembers for lobbying and organizing.
● Conduct training sessions and track progress on engagement efforts.
4-Coalition Building for Safe Roads
● Work with the Director to expand the coalition supporting the driver’s licenses for allcampaign.
● Assist in preparing and facilitating coalition meetings, as well as take minutes.
5-Voter Mobilization & Advocacy
● Support the mobilization of the Voceros por el Voto Network for elections and campaigns.
● Assist in voter outreach campaigns and other civic engagement initiatives.
6-Community Engagement in Key Districts
● Collaborate with the Civic Engagement Director in Identifying allies and members in keydistricts to participate in local meetings with law enforcement, farmers, and othercommunity leaders.
● Support our base in broader community efforts to educate and advocate for the driver’slicense campaign, an end to family separations, and the termination of ICE collaborationprograms at the local level.
Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities:
● Submit Timesheets: Ensure that timesheets are submitted on time according to theschedule provided by HR. Ensure timesheets reflect proper accounting of hours andexpenses for c3 or c4 activities.
● Submit itemized receipts within the same month that the expense occurred.
● Mandatory Attendance: Attend mandatory meetings and events, including but not limited to all-staff meetings, May Day, the annual Gala, annual assembly, retreats, and otherorganizational events as required.
● Coordinate with supervisor for minimum of 3 days a week to be present at the office.Check-in for weekly goals and brief daily check-ins.
● Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
● Experience in community organizing, advocacy, or civic engagement.
● Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage allies, communitymembers, and partner organizations.
● Experience in grassroots organizing, voter mobilization, or coalition-building.
● Knowledge of immigration issues, workers’ rights, and social justice advocacy.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
● Experience coordinating meetings, trainings, and advocacy efforts.
● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Previous experience working with immigrant and/or Latinx communities.
● Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
● Experience in lobbying or policy advocacy efforts.
● Familiarity with Wisconsin’s political landscape and key stakeholders.
● Proficiency in digital organizing tools and social media advocacy.

This is a part time (20h/week) limited-term, three-month position, with the possibility of extending it if necessary, with a salary of $26,000

Voces de la Frontera is a national leader in the movement for immigrant and worker rights and the largest grassroots Latinx membership organization in Wisconsin. Job description: As an HR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department with various administrative tasks and functions. Your primary responsibilities will include aiding in recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll tasks, and providing support for various HR programs and initiatives.
Hours: 40 hours/week
Salary: $23/hour
Reports to: HR Manager, Ana Gomez
HR Key Responsibilities:
HR Program Support:
- Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives such as performance management, employee engagement, and training programs.
- Help organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and other HR events.
- Participate in employee engagement activities to promote a positive work culture.
- Assist HR Manager in sending out important communications out to staff
- Assist in data base organization
Recruitment Support:
- Sort through HR Manager’s email and identify applicants
- Schedule interviews and communicate with applicants regarding their application status.
Employee Onboarding:
- Help prepare and organize new hire orientation materials.
- Coordinate onboarding schedules and equipment set up for new employees.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed by new hires.
Employee Records Management:
- Assist HR Manager on yearly audits
- Assist HR Manager with documentation and filing employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Help schedule employee evaluations
- Aid in the preparation of payroll by helping collect timesheets on time
- Address payroll-related queries from employees and provide necessary support.
Compliance and Policy Adherence:
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion
Other Responsibilities:
- Submit Timesheets: Ensure that timesheets are submitted on time according to the schedule provided by HR. Supervisors, managers, and directors are responsible for reviewing and approving their team’s timesheets within the specified timeframe.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisors, managers, and directors are responsible for conducting annual employee performance reviews for the members of their teams.
- Mandatory Attendance: Attend mandatory meetings and events, including but not limited to all-staff meetings, directors’ meetings, May Day, the annual Gala, retreats, and other organizational events as required.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with basic HR functions such as recruitment, employee relation, benefits administration, performance management, and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) is important.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, managers, and external stakeholders. This includes the ability to draft emails, memos, and other HR-related documents.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records is crucial in HR roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is typically required. Experience with HRIS or other HR software systems is also a plus.
- Basic understanding of employment laws and regulations, such as those related to equal employment opportunity (EEO), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), is beneficial.
- Spanish Bilingual preferred

Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Position Summary:
The accountant plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s financial management, operations, and fundraising activities. This position involves maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions, managing grant tracking and deposits, and assisting with regular reconciliations and reporting. The individual will collaborate closely with the executive director and finance team to ensure compliance with operational and financial policies and support the smooth running of key programs. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial integrity and success of the organization while supporting key internal processes and external fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage entries and assist with reports for grant tracking on QuickBooks
- Track all C3 and C4 deposits and take them to the bank weekly
- Manage monthly reconciliation (all bank account entries, grants, sustainer memberships, membership splits, withdrawal, ach transactions, online donations, bank deposits)
- Manages all receivables and assists with payables as needed.
- Regular and timely usage of administrative and staff communication channels (email, Signal, text, phone)
- Work closely with the executive director and finance team to ensure compliance and oversight of operations requests
- Incorporate new systems to facilitate programs such as Square, Divvy and bill.com
- Assist staff with fundraising campaigns (such as the Gala, May Day, and Annual Assembly)
- Create and manage tracking sheets to monitor donations
- Data entry to organizational databases including QuickBooks and Every Action (internal member database)
- Attend and support major Voces de la Frontera events and campaign actions
- Assist with logistics on all events
- Create financial reports for monthly board meetings budgets
- Track all expenses and receipts for all financial accounts
- Monthly meetings with development to classify and track grants
- Create invoices to obtain funds from grantors
- Be vigilant of any suspicious fraudulent activity
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Accounting background with prior experience managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Quickbooks Required
- Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly in a high paced, changing work environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Google tools
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Have respect for and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Experience with immigrant rights organizing preferred
